Engine Power Source, a leader in building and distributing Kubota engines custom-built to power various types of equipment and generators, is seeking an Application & Testing Technician to join our engineering and prototype team.In this role, you will support the development, testing, and validation of engine-powered equipment and mechanical systems. You will work closely with engineering, production, and customers to assemble and evaluate prototype units, conduct testing both at EPS and customer locations, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate the administrative activities necessary to move projects from concept to production.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a combination of hands-on mechanical work, technical troubleshooting, customer interaction, and project coordination.What You'd Do:Assemble and modify prototype engine packages and mechanical systems according to engineering specifications.Install and evaluate components such as fuel systems, cooling packages, wire harnesses, controls, and other customer-specific equipment.Conduct testing and validation of engines, power units, and related systems both at EPS and at customer locations.Travel to customer sites to support equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, performance testing, and issue resolution.Assist engineering with application reviews, product evaluations, and design improvements.Document test procedures, results, observations, and recommendations.Coordinate prototype build activities including opening work orders, tracking project status, monitoring parts availability, and maintaining project documentation.Work closely with purchasing, engineering, production, and service teams to ensure prototype projects remain on schedule.Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting efforts related to customer and internal product issues.Maintain work instructions, testing records, and engineering documentation.Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment and conducting testing activities.What We're Looking For:2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, diesel engines, equipment testing, engineering support, or a related technical field.Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of engines, equipment, and mechanical systems.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.Experience reading technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple projects and administrative tasks simultaneously.Comfortable working directly with customers and representing EPS professionally in the field.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Experience with CAD software, ERP systems, or engineering documentation systems is a plus.Bachelor or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Diesel Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred but not required.Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, primarily for customer testing and troubleshooting support.A motivated and flexible team player who takes initiative, adapts to change, collaborates effectively, and communicates clearly.Schedule & LocationThis position is based primarily at our Rock Hill, SC headquarters.
