Assistant Purchasing Agent

In this role, you'll support the Purchasing Agent by performing a variety of complex purchasing functions. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing specifications, evaluating vendor bids, conducting product research and value analysis, and coordinating with departments and vendors. You'll also monitor purchase orders, resolve delivery issues, and may supervise clerical staff. Key responsibilities include: Procuring services, supplies, materials, and equipment meeting quality and cost standards Reviewing requisitions for accuracy and compliance Preparing and evaluating specifications Analyzing bids and recommending awards Conducting market research and value analysis Coordinating with departments and vendors Tracking orders and expediting deliveries Resolving shipment issues and claims Supporting contracts and incidental purchases May supervise clerical staff What you bring includes: Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills Knowledge of governmental procurement and purchasing practices Experience with bid analysis and specification development Basic understanding of accounting principles Ability to build effective working relationships Strong written and verbal communication skills Why join us?
