General Assignment Reporter

KABB/WOAI is looking for an aggressive, take-charge General Assignment Reporter to help us continue to grow our audience and empower our viewers. We're looking for a motivated, energetic, and creative reporter who can gather information and enterprise new stories. You should have sound writing skills, a great work ethic, and a can-do attitude. The ideal candidate should be able to think on their feet, have excellent live shot skills, and thrive on breaking stories. No day will look the same as a Reporter, however, the main responsibilities will include: Create, gather, and write meaningful and engaging stories for newscasts, websites, and social media platforms Provide news on air as directed by news management Engage with local community members Review material for fairness, accuracy, and balance Work closely with all team members, including Producers, Editors, Anchors, and News Director Additionally, this person should: Have proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems Excel in storytelling across multiple platforms Possess strong writing and copy-editing skills Have 2 years' reporting experience A bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred Be able to work well under pressure Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
