divh2Local CDL Driver/h2pThe Local CDL Driver is responsible for the safe driving and delivery of customer materials within a 100-mile radius from the assigned facility. Duties include, but are not limited to, driving the company truck to deliver orders to customers, the loading and unloading of materials, and duties assigned in the facility. This position may also assist in the warehouse when not driving./ppThis position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and designated as safety sensitive by the company. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. This position must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others./ph3Key Responsibilities:/h3ulliDrive and operates 26 straight truck with flat bed and daycab pulling 45 flatbed./liliDeliver orders/materials/product to customers, both internal and external, while following DOT and internal safety rules using the company truck./liliLoading and unloading of company truck and securing loads./liliManeuver heavy materials with the use of a forklift, pallet jack, and/or hand truck./liliAssist in warehouse as needed./liliComply with company and DOT policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations./liliComplete pre-trip inspections, know how to maintain a legal and accurate logbook, retain fuel and toll receipts, maintain cleanliness of truck cab, document and log work/rest periods, and complete post-trip inspections./liliCheck gauges and visual indicators for malfunctions, ensure locks on trailers are working properly, and conduct inspection of vehicle before and during trips to determine problems that may be occurring and promptly report all problems to supervisor./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulh3Required Knowledge / Skills/Abilities:/h3ulliHave a valid commercial motor vehicle operators license issued by one state or jurisdiction./liliA Class A Commercial Drivers License (operating a CMV with a gross combination weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds and towing a trailer of 10,001 pounds or more)./liliIs not disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under the rules in 49 CFR 391.15./liliAbility to speak and read English to converse with the public, understand traffic signs and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records./liliDrive the vehicle safely./liliCurrently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card./liliPass a drivers road test or equivalent./liliMust be comfortable with making local deliveries with multiple stops./liliNo more than two (2) moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years./liliNo serious traffic violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years./liliNo preventable accidents while operating a CMV in the last three (3) years./liliNo preventable DOT recordable accidents (collisions resulting in disabling damage and/or immediate medical treatment away from the scene) while operating a CMV in the last five (5) years./liliNo preventable accident resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history (commercial motor vehicle)./liliNo positive or refused drug or alcohol test in the previous five (5) years and must have fully completed a DOT recognized Substance Abuse Program, as well as return to duty testing and all prescribed follow-up testing for said violation./liliMust currently live within 60 miles of the assigned facility or willing to establish a residence within 60 miles by 90 days from date of hire. Permanent residence is defined as your main, and regular residence (home) at a fixed address. It is the location you report to the government (W2, tax returns, census, passport, etc.) as your home.
