Solution Engineer (Automation, Robotics) - US
About the role We are looking for a Solution Engineer to join our Sales Team and play a key role in accelerating our growth. This is not a back‑office engineering role — this is technical sales at its best.
An solution engineer acts as a consultant to customers and designs technical solutions that get implemented with world‑class robots. You will uncover requirements, create proposals, present your ideas, define pilots, help refine our product roadmap, collaborate closely with our sales, customer success and engineering teams, beat the competition and have fun working in a collaborative, fast‑moving, high‑tech environment. You can expect to learn a lot about the warehousing, logistics and manufacturing industries – from the shop floor to the top floor.
This is a remote position that requires approximately 30–40% travel, consisting of frequent but shorter customer visits. The best candidates are located near Chicago (preferred), Atlanta, Boston, Dallas or Philadelphia.
Responsibilities we’ll trust you with Gathering and analysing data sets and facts related to customers and their material handling needs and challenges
Recommending designing and defining robotic material handling solutions that improve efficiency, capacity, throughput and utilisation
Managing the entire deal lifecycle from initial discovery through proposal, pilot definition, negotiation support and final deployment alignment
Preparing business cases for the successful deployment of automation solutions, giving due consideration to infrastructure, licensing, development and support
Understanding customer needs and identifying, observing and studying their processes, problems and possibilities
Providing pre‑sales support to the Sales team and in collaboration with the Sales team, presenting the solution to the customer
Collaboration with customer success, support, product teams and other relevant experts across the company
Following the latest industry trends and identifying key benefits of autonomous mobile robots in comparison to other competitive solutions
Your area of expertise Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial automation, robotics, mechanical or industrial engineering, or similar field
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required; however, we strongly prefer more senior candidates with a proven track record in roles such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Technical Sales, Application Engineer, Pre‑Sales Engineer
Comfortable engaging with customers and external stakeholders, confidently asking insightful questions, leading discussions and presenting tailored solutions
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Knowledge of industrial automation and understanding what drives the logistics, warehousing and manufacturing industries, as well as how autonomous mobile robots can contribute to their success and overall productivity
Experience creating and reviewing CAD layouts, with proficiency in AutoCAD
Experience with structured sales plans, budgets and pipeline management
Experience influencing behaviours for team members that you don’t manage – proven experience influencing cross‑functional stakeholders without direct authority, particularly in close collaboration with Product, Customer Success and Field Engineering teams
Strong communication skills, including presentation, professional writing and negotiation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Basic understanding and experience with Salesforce
Experience with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) or other mobile automation solutions in industrial environments
Experience with Flow Simulation tools (e.g., FlowSim) for modelling and validating material flow and operational performance
