Process Improvement Engineer

Job Overview: We are hiring a Process Engineer II to support manufacturing operations at a solar plant in Hemlock, MI. This is a hands-on role focused on improving production processes, reducing defects, and increasing efficiency. The position requires working a rotating day/night shift schedule in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Responsibilities: • Support process improvements, defect reduction, and efficiency optimization initiatives • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and improve performance • Assist in running experiments and implementing process changes • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and perform root cause analysis • Develop and update standard work documents such as SOPs, job aids, and training materials • Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve throughput and quality • Follow and promote safe work practices at all timesRequirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred) • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (5+ years preferred) • Hands-on experience supporting production/process improvements • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills • Ability to work rotating 12-hour day/night shifts (2-3-2 schedule) • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a team environment • Good communication and multitasking skills • Knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, or Design of Experiments (DoE) is a plus
