Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze existing mainframe applications, databases, files, and batch workflows.Develop and execute data extraction processes from IMS and legacy data sources.Create, modify, and support JCL for data extracts, conversions, testing, and production migration activities.Perform COBOL program analysis and enhancements to support migration requirements.Support FTP/SFTP processes for secure data transmission.Utilize IMS and BMC Utilities for IMS to unload, validate, and reconcile database content.Design and execute data validation and reconciliation procedures.Troubleshoot batch failures, data discrepancies, and performance issues.Collaborate with technical and business teams throughout the migration lifecycle.Support testing, production cutover, and post-implementation stabilization activities.Identify automation opportunities using REXX, CLIST, File-AID, and related utilities.Required Qualifications✔ 10+ years of Mainframe Development experience✔ Expert-level COBOL programming skills✔ Strong JCL development and troubleshooting experience✔ Extensive IMS Database expertise✔ Experience with BMC Utilities for IMS✔ Proven experience with enterprise data migration or modernization projects✔ Strong data analysis, validation, and reconciliation capabilities✔ Experience with FTP/SFTP file transfer processes✔ Ability to work independently in fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentsPreferred QualificationsFile-AIDEZtrieveREXXCLISTLegacy modernization initiativesMainframe-to-cloud migration experienceInsurance, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Government industry experience
