Laboratory Assistant

Perform duties associated with support of clinical laboratory testing. Responsible for compliance with federal and state regulations regarding clinical laboratories, safety, and laboratory policies and proceduresEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork as part of the Clinical Services Team to accomplish daily mission of patient care.Contribute significantly to the team to maintain or exceed same day TAT standards for priority testing.Follow safety procedures.Follow and ensure compliance to regulatory standards (CLIA and State regulations).Support pre-analytic phase of Clinical Laboratory testing duties including specimen receiving and handling, accessioning, labeling, treatment processing of samples, and verification of data entry.Provide timely and cheerful customer service.Resolve issues and communicate with teammates regarding laboratory documentation and results.Conduct general laboratory maintenance including cleaning benches, washing dishes, and stocking shelves.Contribute significantly to the team to maintain or exceed same day TAT standards for priority testing.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Ability to work exceptionally well as part of a teamStrong communication skillsAbility to follow instructions and comply with procedures related to quality, safety and securityStrong data entry and data verification skills with attention to detailStrong organizational skillsProficient in Microsoft Office productsEducation and ExperienceMinimum high school education or GED.Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related field preferred.One to five years of clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
