Patient Care Technician (PCT)Location: Hutchinson Regional Medical CenterFull Time Equivalent (FTE): 0.9Job position summary: The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides care to patients under the direction of a physician or nursing staff.BenefitsPaid Parental LeaveTuition reimbursementPaid time offHoliday premium payShift and weekend differential pay401k with a 6% employer matchMedical, Dental, and Vision coverageEmployee assistance programJob DescriptionPatient Care Tech (PCT) - Behavioral Health - FT Days 11a-11pFull-Time Days: Weekdays 11a-11p - Every Other Weekend 9a-9pEssential ResponsibilitiesComplete timely and accurate documentation as per Health System/affiliate policy.Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients as described in unit/department-based competencies, policies, and procedures.Provide care as directed to achieve desired patient outcomes for patients newborn thru geriatric.Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.General ResponsibilitiesPerform other duties as assigned.People Management ResponsibilitiesDoes this position have people management responsibilities?Yes x No"Yes" indicates that this position entails overseeing and guiding team members, encompassing employment decisions and/or suggestions, as well as conducting formal performance assessments."No" indicates that this position does not involve managing team members.Minimum QualificationsRequired Education and ExperienceCertification as an MA, CNA, EMT, or HHA in the state of Kansas OR at least one semester of Nursing SchoolRequired License/Certifications/RegistrationsCurrent BLS/CPR card prior to participating in patient care activities.Successful completion of on the job training for sterile technique, maintenance of sterile field and instrument care/handling (Obstetrics and Surgery)Successful completion of on the job EKG and phlebotomy training (Emergency)Preferred QualificationsPreferred Education and ExperiencePrevious exposure to a medical environment.Preferred License/Certifications/RegistrationsCertification as a MA, CNA, EMT, or HHA in the state of KansasPhlebotomy Technician PBT (ASCP)Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBasic computer skills.
