In your role you are responsible for assisting the Camp Director in the organization and implementation and of camp programs, and supporting the leadership team, staff, and campersWork Commitment: Dates: May 31- September 30Includes staff training beginning May 31Camp is closed June 19 and July 4-6; these days are unpaidThis position has the possibility to extend into a full-time, permanent position following the camp seasonWeekly Schedule: 10:00 a.m. Sunday-7:00 p.m. FridayDaily 2-hour break Monday-ThursdayStaff are required to work Saturday, August 1 and may be asked to work Saturday, July 18Camp Staff Benefits: Pay: $180 per day Included room and board First Aid and CPR certification Optional Lifeguard, Archery, Wilderness First Aid, and Small Craft trainingsAccess to GSGCNWI Employee Assistance Program Qualifications: Loves to interact with children and has prior experience working with children of various ages Enjoys spending time outdoors and has prior experience working in an outdoor setting Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license and at least 5 years of driving experience, candidates that are 23+ are strongly preferredAssistant Director Qualifications: Loves to interact with children and has prior experience working with children of various agesEnjoys spending time outdoors and has prior experience working in an outdoor setting2 years minimum of experience delivering exceptional customer service verbally and in writing2 years minimum of experience facilitating and supervising youth programHigh school graduate or equivalent21 years of age or older by June 21, 2026Proof of health physical clearing the candidate for work in a camp settingWillingness to live and work in an indoor and outdoor camp setting, which includes working irregular hours with limited or simple equipment, rustic facilities, wildlife and insects; limited technology while at camp, and daily exposure to sun, rain, and other weather conditionsResponsibilities:Provide fun, positive and active leadership to campers and staffHelp build a supportive environment where campers can grow, make new friends & try new thingsRole model problem-solving, collaboration, and initiative to campers and staffAssist the camp director in the planning, organization and implementation of camp activitiesAssist in the supervision, monitoring, and participate in all aspects of campAssist in the care of camp equipment and in maintaining a clean camp environment Take lead as part of the leadership team in training, supervising, and supporting camp staffOversee campers and staff during group activities, meals, and transitions to and from scheduled eventsEnsure that camp staff and campers know and follow safety and educational proceduresAssist with management and care of program supplies and spaces, including specialty equipmentAssume responsibility for the physical health, safety and mental welfare of the campers and staffOther duties as assigned Powered by JazzHRveC6ZuXWpA
