Mechanical Engineer *

Overview In this role you will lead mechanical design for data centers and mission-critical facilities as part of HDR’s integrated team. You will mentor junior engineers while coordinating with clients, architects, and other disciplines to deliver feasible, construction-ready solutions. You’ll develop specifications, calculations, and construction documents, while guiding QA/QC and site activities to ensure compliant, high-quality outcomes. ResponsibilitiesCoordinate mechanical design team through schematic design to contract documentsLead code compliance reviews with governing agenciesPlan workload to meet project schedulesConduct site work sessions with Project Manager and other disciplinesReview documents for cross-disciplinary conflictsWrite/edit mechanical specifications and select equipment and systemsCoordinate with impacted disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change ordersProvide construction contract administration as neededPerform QA/QC on work of other Mechanical staffPerform other duties as needed Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional buildingsProfessional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) licenseExperience with MS Office and Trane TRACE or similar softwareExperience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consultancyleadershipmentorshipcollaborationmechanical system design for commercial/institutional buildingscoordination across disciplines (mechanical/electrical/architectural)construction documentation and administration
