Tractor / Mower Operator

Job Title: Tractor / Mower Operator (Part-Time) Location: Nellis Air Force Base – Las Vegas, NV Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week (5 hours per day, 4 days per week) Compensation This is a part-time position. Pay is $22.00 per hour plus $4.93 per hour in Health & Welfare benefits, in lieu of insurance. Health & Welfare is paid for all hours worked in accordance with contract requirements. Position Summary We are seeking a Part-Time Tractor / Mower Operator to support grounds maintenance operations at Nellis Air Force Base, including work on the flight line and surrounding areas. This position involves operating a tractor with a pull-behind mower, performing routine equipment maintenance, and completing related grounds tasks. Training is available for qualified candidates. This role requires the ability to work independently, operate equipment for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate a tractor with a pull-behind mower on the flight line and surrounding areas Perform grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, weed whacking, and weed removal Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment, including greasing, blade sharpening, cleaning, and power washing Operate equipment safely on uneven and bumpy terrain Perform routine inspections of equipment and report issues to the supervisor Follow all base safety, security, and operational requirements Physical and Work Environment Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold Ability to work on uneven terrain Required Qualifications Valid driver’s license Ability to obtain and maintain access to a military installation Authorization to work in the United States Ability to pass required background checks for base and flight line access Ability to safely operate equipment and follow all safety procedures Preferred Qualifications Prior experience operating tractors or mowing equipment Experience operating manual transmission equipment Previous experience working in a secure or regulated environment Additional Information Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining required background clearance and base access.
