This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for operational direction, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, staffing, and departmental strategy.With approximately 75 FTEs, this role is ideal for a seasoned Laboratory Supervisor or Manager ready to step into senior leadership.Position SummaryThe Laboratory Director is responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of all laboratory operations. This includes ensuring efficient workflows, maintaining CLIA and CAP standards, promoting a culture of safety and quality, and supporting organizational goals. The Director must uphold the highest ethical standards and consistently model professionalism and accountability.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and oversee daily lab operations across multiple disciplinesEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and accrediting regulationsLead, develop, and mentor a team of ~75 FTEsCollaborate with hospital leadership to meet organizational goalsOversee quality control, proficiency testing, and performance improvement initiativesMaintain cost-effective operations, supply chain oversight, and budget managementSupport phlebotomy operations and ensure high service excellenceDrive operational improvements and implement new processes when neededCommunicate clearly with staff, physicians, and executive leadershipQualificationsRecent acute-care laboratory supervisory experience (no minimum years required)State-licensed Medical TechnologistBachelor's degree or higher in:Clinical Laboratory ScienceMedical TechnologyChemical, biological, or physical scienceASCP certification requiredStrong leadership skills and ability to manage large teamsAbility to ensure departmental compliance, quality, and operational efficiencyReason for Opening: RetirementSign-On Bonus: Case-by-caseRelocation Assistance: Case-by-case
