Maintenance Aide A

We are currently looking for a Full Time Maintenance Aide A to join our Housing Maintenance Team B Unit 3 team located at the Chickasaw Nation Housing Division Ardmore Office working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.Summary:Assists with general maintenance, repair and construction duties to structures and equipment, including plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical systems with minimum supervision. Assists with major maintenance or construction projects using power tools and a variety of hand tools. Background check will be required before issuance of a pass key. If job warrants, will work overtime and as experience warrants, will be placed on a rotating after hours emergency call schedule. Overtime pay will be one and one-half times the hourly rate.Responsibilities:* Mows the lawn and cleans surrounding landscapes* Installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing/piping equipment, machinery and controls located in the interior and exterior of building* Assists with remodeling or adding to existing structures* Assists with general maintenance and repair of electrical systems* Assists on major maintenance or construction projects such as periodic overhauling of air conditioning and heating equipment* Available for emergency service requests and abatements* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral* Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Must have knowledge of commercial heating and air systems and equipment (HVAC). e.g. may include to learn and apply sequence of operation of refrigerant cycle/heat and cool safeties.* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and managementSkills:Essential:* Basic Computer skillsExperience:Nonessential:* 2 years directly related experienceEducation:Essential:* High School, GED or EquivalentCredentials:Essential:* Pass general background check* Standard Driver's LicenseWorking Conditions:Essential:* Hand tools* Power tools* Constantly bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Sometimes climb ladders* Hand-eye coordination, reach and grasp* Operate hand tools* Operate power tools* Frequently lift and or carry up to 50 lbs* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 50 lbs* Moderately strenuous work* May work day shiftTraining*It is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their line of support (LOS) or the leadership of the Chickasaw Nation.
