This role is critical to advancing brand presence, stakeholder engagement, and corporate messaging across multiple channels and audiences. You will work collaboratively with the Marketing Director, senior leaders and a dedicated PR agency partner to develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies that support our business objectives and strengthen our position in the renewable energy sector.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Communications & PlanningCollaborate with our PR agency partner to identify communications opportunities, manage media relationships, and shape narrative around company initiativesDevelop and execute integrated communications strategies and plans aligned with company objectives and brand positioningProvide strategic counsel to leadership on communications implications of business decisionsMedia Relations & PressServe as primary media liaison; manage journalist relationships and media inquiriesCoordinate with PR agency to place company stories, thought leadership articles, and executive bylines in relevant industry and mainstream publicationsDevelop press releases, media kits, and other communications materialsPrepare executives for media interviews and appearancesInternal CommunicationsCreate and distribute internal communications that keep employees informed and aligned with company vision and objectivesPartner with HR on internal channels including newsletters, intranet content, and team briefingsSupport employee engagement initiatives and company culture communicationsStakeholder EngagementDevelop targeted communications for key stakeholders including customers, regulators, community partners, and investorsManage content for social media and digital platformsSupport event communications and corporate responsibility initiativesContent DevelopmentCreate compelling, clear, and accurate communications content across formats (written, video, digital)Develop talking points, FAQs, and educational materials on complex clean energy topics for priority stakeholdersManage brand messaging consistency across all communicationsAgency CollaborationPartner effectively with PR agency to leverage their expertise and resourcesBrief agency partners on company objectives, market conditions, and strategic prioritiesReview and approve agency recommendations and deliverablesManage communications budget and PR agency contracts with Marketing DirectorReputation ManagementMonitor media coverage, industry trends, and stakeholder sentimentCoordinate rapid-response communications strategies when neededManage organizational reputation in digital and traditional channelsRequired Qualifications5-7 years of professional communications, PR, or marketing experience2+ years in energy, utilities, sustainability, or related B2B industries (preferred)Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling messagingDemonstrated success developing and executing communications strategiesStrong media relations experience and success in securing media coverageExperience managing content across multiple channels and formatsProficiency with communications tools and platforms (CMS, social media, email marketing)Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple prioritiesExperience working collaboratively with external agenciesBachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related fieldPreferred QualificationsExperience in the renewable energy, cleantech, or environmental sectorKnowledge of clean energy policy, technology, or market dynamicsExperience with thought leadership development and executive communicationsCrisis communications or media relations experienceExperience with measurement and analytics for communications programs
