Linux System Admin

Overview In this Linux System Admin role, you design, develop, and support IT systems to meet business needs. You will work within a DevOps environment to deploy new technologies, maintain server infrastructure, and ensure secure, healthy system operations. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in Scrum processes, and drive continuous deployment and integration efforts. This role offers the opportunity to shape scalable Unix/Linux environments and streamline tooling for operations at scale. ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop IT systems; produce design/functional specs and project deliverablesDeploy, install, configure, maintain and test PCs/servers and related hardware; perform system integration testingEvaluate and recommend software/hardware; support web access and secure systemsWork with VMware/vCenter, Web Services, and streaming media; manage virtual networksDevelop tools and processes for managing Unix/Windows services; contribute to internal tools and scriptsParticipate in development and testing of internal tooling; code projects in DevOps contextFollow continuous deployment and continuous integration; operate in a DevOps modelMonitor system health via KPIs, alarms, and issue hunting; ensure operational excellenceAttend Scrum ceremonies; apply Agile methodologies; solve complex problems with innovative solutions Key requirementsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experienceSystems analysis/programming experienceExpertise across multiple system environmentsExperience with Unix/Linux administration in technical operations or engineeringAbility to clearly articulate issues to team, stakeholders, and managementClear written and verbal communicationCross-functional collaborationProblem-solving and analytical thinkingUnix/Linux system administrationVMware/vCenter and virtualizationDevOps practices; CI/CD; Agile/Scrum
