Data Platform Engineer

We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to architect, build, and support the AWS infrastructure that powers our enterprise analytics ecosystem.This is a hands-on data engineering and cloud infrastructure role, focused on designing and maintaining scalable, reliable data pipelines and warehouse architecture. You will partner closely with the Manager of Business Intelligence & Data, who owns reporting and analytics requirements, while you own the underlying platform, data movement, orchestration, and performance.If you enjoy building cloud-native data platforms, solving infrastructure challenges, and creating reliable data pipelines, we'd love to connect with you.ResponsibilitiesData Platform ArchitectureDesign, build, and maintain an AWS-based analytics platform supporting enterprise reporting and data initiatives.Own the data warehouse environment utilizing Amazon Redshift.Develop and optimize data pipelines, orchestration workflows, and transformation processes using dbt, AWS Lambda, and Python.Build and manage AWS services including:Amazon S3AWS GlueAWS Step FunctionsIAMCloudWatchEnsure platform scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.Data Pipeline Operations & ReliabilityMonitor pipeline health, system performance, and operational metrics.Develop alerting and observability solutions using CloudWatch and related AWS services.Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and infrastructure issues.Support ingestion and loading of Oracle Hyperion accounting data into the data warehouse environment.Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and data flow diagrams.Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementTranslate analytics and reporting requirements into scalable technical solutions.Optimize data models, warehouse performance, and query execution where needed.Recommend new technologies, AWS services, and automation opportunities to improve platform capabilities and operational efficiency.Qualifications5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or related fields.Strong hands-on experience with:Amazon RedshiftdbtAWS LambdaPythonExperience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines and modern data warehouse environments.Expertise with AWS services such as S3, Glue, IAM, Step Functions, and CloudWatch.Strong understanding of:Data warehousing conceptsPipeline orchestrationData architecture best practicesCloud security and IAM permissionsPerformance tuning and cost optimizationExperience monitoring production environments and responding to incidents.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.Experience with Git and modern CI/CD processes.Knowledge of query optimization and data model performance tuning.Exposure to Power BI or other business intelligence tools.Experience supporting finance or ERP-related data sources, including Oracle Hyperion.
