STEM Paraprofessional Teacher
Pay Grade: Teacher Pay ScalePrimary Purpose:Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.Qualifications:Education/Certification:High school diploma or GED requiredAssociate's degree or higher preferred, especially in education, science, technology, engineering, or mathematicsValid paraprofessional certification (or ability to obtain)Meet federal/state requirements for paraprofessionals (e.g., completion of 48 college hours or passing a paraprofessional assessment, if applicable)AsSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Basic knowledge of STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering, and math) appropriate for elementary studentsAbility to support hands-on, inquiry-based learning activities and experimentsStrong organizational skills to manage materials, tools, and STEM resourcesAbility to assist with small group instruction and reinforce teacher-led lessonsKnowledge of basic technology tools (Chromebooks, tablets, educational apps, coding platforms, etc.)Ability to follow teacher lesson plans and provide instructional supportStrong classroom management support skillsEffective communication skills with students, staff, and parentsAbility to motivate and engage students in problem-solving and critical thinkingFlexibility and willingness to support multiple grade levels and instructional settingsAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
