Job Title : Mechanical Engineer II – Washington, DCLocation: Washington, DCExperience: 5–10 years as a licensed Mechanical EngineerLicense: Professional Engineer (PE) – Mechanical Engineering requiredSalary: $120,000–$140,000 annually, commensurate with experiencePosition Overview:A leading architecture and engineering firm is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer II (PE) to join its Washington, DC team. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience as a licensed Mechanical Engineer, with strong experience in HVAC and plumbing design.The Mechanical Engineer II will be responsible for mechanical and plumbing system design, engineering documentation, Revit modeling, interdisciplinary coordination, and providing technical guidance to junior engineering staff. Experience with multifamily housing, commercial, and local government projects is preferred.Key Responsibilities:Design mechanical and plumbing systems, including:HVAC systemsLoad and ventilation calculationsEquipment selectionAir distribution systemsHydronic systemsPlumbing systemsBuilding code evaluationsDevelop mechanical and plumbing models and drawings using Revit.Coordinate mechanical engineering work with other project disciplines.Ensure the technical accuracy and completeness of engineering documentation.Provide leadership and guidance to Engineers in Training (EITs) and Designers.Support the overall design and documentation process for assigned projects.Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, team members, and other stakeholders.Required Qualifications:Professional degree in Mechanical Engineering.Active Mechanical Engineering PE license required.5–10 years of experience as a licensed Mechanical Engineer.Strong HVAC and plumbing design experience.Proficiency with Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with Trane TRACE load calculation software.Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.Preferred ExperienceMultifamily residential projectsCommercial building projectsLocal government projectsMultidisciplinary architecture and engineering environmentsCompensation:$120,000–$140,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
