Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machining processes, CAD/CAM software, and manufacturing best practices to ensure high-quality production. The CNC Programmer will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to improve machining efficiency and accuracy, utilizing advanced skills in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and precision measurement instruments.
Duties
Develop and write CNC programs for various machining centers including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment using CAM programming software.
Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate manufacturing of parts.
Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA to design and modify parts and tooling.
Apply GD&T principles to ensure parts meet strict tolerances and specifications.
Set up machines by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and calibration tools like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, programming errors, or machine performance.
Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and process improvements.
Collaborate with engineering teams on process improvements using schematic diagrams and mechanical knowledge.
ACM Software implementation.
Qualifications
Proven experience with CNC programming on CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and EDM equipment.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, and other relevant tools.
Strong understanding of GD&T standards, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation.
Knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Mechanical knowledge related to tooling selection, geometry calculations, and precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus.
Ability to read schematics and schematics diagrams related to manufacturing processes.
