ControllerJob SummaryThe Controller is responsible for the monthly reporting of financial results, including oversight of the accounting close process, financial reporting, internal controls within a SOX-compliant environment, audit support, budgeting, credit and collections, accounts payable, and strategic planning activities.This role is also responsible for identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance operational efficiency. The Controller currently supervises and coaches one direct report.Essential FunctionsManage multi-company consolidations and the elimination of all intercompany transactions.Participate in the monthly close and reporting process in compliance with U.S. GAAP, ensuring all required transactions are accurately recorded and financial statements are distributed to the Management Team, banking partners, and other stakeholders.Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly and annual financial reports, including supporting analysis and narratives for management.Monitor and report project expenditures against approved budgets.Assist the Business President in developing the annual budget and partnering with budget owners to ensure alignment between organizational objectives and financial plans.Support the Business President in monitoring budget-to-actual revenue and expenditures, analyzing variances, and recommending corrective actions when necessary.Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, financial processes, and operational procedures, and present value-added recommendations to leadership.Continuously streamline accounting processes related to fiscal close and financial reporting to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.Maintain SOX-compliant internal controls and safeguards across all in-scope business processes.Partner with the Corporate Treasurer to manage communications with lending institutions, monitor credit facilities, oversee cash flow requirements, and ensure compliance with financial covenants.Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned or initiated independently.Supervise, mentor, and develop direct reports to ensure high performance and professional growth.QualificationsEducation & CertificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting required.CPA designation preferred.ExperienceMinimum of five (5) years of U.S. GAAP accounting experience required.Experience in power generation, renewable energy, manufacturing, or other capital-intensive industries preferred.Project cost accounting and project cost management experience preferred.Previous supervisory or management experience required.Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Oracle ERP systems.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities.Ability to lead teams while effectively collaborating across departments.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
