Controller Job DescriptionJob Description* Ensure Banks accounting procedures and financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting and regulatory requirements. Ensures adequacy of the Bank's internal controls and financial procedures.* Responsible for the preparation of the liquidity calculations and daily monitoring of cash balances.· Responsible for ensuring the Bank's insurance policies are adequate and in place to protect the bank's assets and provide liability protection.· Oversees the accounting functions of the operations and accounting department.· Processes bi-weekly payroll, submits payroll taxes, prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax returns and forms.· Responsible for the accounting and reporting related to the Bank's Defined Benefit Pension Plan and 401k Plan.· Assists the CFO with preparation of various regulatory reports (i.e. call report, QCR, etc.).Responsible for balancing certain GL accounts.Develops and utilizes detailed and comprehensive reporting mechanisms for all functional areas of the bank. Makes recommendations for changes as necessary. Presents reports to the Board of Directors and makes recommendations as necessary. Prepares special analysis at the direction of the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, CEO, or CFO.Develops and utilizes forward-looking, predictive models and activity based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization's operations and business plans.Works with outside consultants, auditors and examiners in preparation of related reports and audits/exams.Other Duties as Assigned-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Experience Required for PositionBachelor's Degree in Business Field: Accounting, Finance or Management or CPA15+ years experience in preparation of GAAP financial statements5+ years experience in Banking or Finance Field5+ years experience in payroll processing.Strong Strategic planning and multi tasking skills.Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Job DetailsFull-time salaried position.
