Python Developer
Python/Django Software Engineer We're looking for a Python/Django Software Engineer to join a central government programme. You'll build and improve digital services on AWS, working in a multidisciplinary team to deliver reliable, secure and user-focused software.
Location: Remote, with 1 to 2 days a month in London
Rate: £500/day Outside IR35Duration: 3 months initial
Sector: Central Government
Must be SC Cleared
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain web applications and APIs in Python and Django
- Develop and deploy services on AWSWrite clean, well-tested and maintainable code
- Take part in code reviews and help raise engineering standards
- Work with product, design and delivery colleagues in an Agile team
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Troubleshoot and fix issues across development and live environments
Key Requirements:
Strong commercial experience with Python and DjangoHands-on AWS experience covering services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3 or ECSExperience building and consuming RESTful APIsSolid understanding of relational databases, ideally PostgreSQLExperience with automated testing and CI/CDComfortable working in Agile delivery teams DesirablePrevious central government or public sector experience Knowledge of the GDS Service Standard and GOV.UK Design System Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Cloud FormationDocker and containerised deployments Apply now or email dom@briodigital.io for more information
