Essential Functions:Responsible for reporting all plant outages, upsets, and emergencies.To instigate studies and engineer solutions to overcome quality and safety problems, to reduce waste and improve overall performanceAssist in the development of new products, processes, or systems as related to electrical distribution or infrastructure.Assists in the design, installation and commissioning of new plant equipment and other systems to ensure that this introduction to the production facility is handled efficiently and within the minimum disruption.Investigate and analyze machinery downtime and engineer solutions or corrective actions to eliminate future re-occurrence.Coordinate maintenance of plant electrical power systems and distribution.Champion site energy savings tracking, reporting, & project implementationWork together with team members, driving continuous improvement processes.Drives quality continuous improvements coordinating corrective actions as necessaryTrain team members in standard operating procedures (SOP) and ensure regular audits for the maintenance of such proceduresIdentify and update spare part inventory to eliminate downtime due to lack of sparesOversee outside contractors and vendors as needed.Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and PrinciplesOther duties as assigned by manager Scope/Dimensions:Direct, coordinate, and supervise all functions of the shiftWork on continuous improvement of float glass manufacturing Top 3 Competencies Needed for Success in the RoleSafety and Quality focusEmpowers and DevelopsInnovation and Change Qualifications Required: 4-year degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 5-7 years' experience in manufacturing environmentComputer aided design, preferable AutoCadDemonstrated ability in solving technical problems related to manufacturing processesExcellent communication skillsPosses strong interpersonal skillsEffective communicatorDemonstrated ability to prioritize and organize objectives and targets to meet deadlinesStrong computer skills Qualifications Desired: BA/BS degreeSix Sigma certificationPrevious glass experienceEngineering/Manufacturing experience Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
