Position Responsibilities
Operate host processor and related enterprise server environments, monitoring online and offline processing environments to obtain peak system performance and meet departmental goals and objectives.
Implement check and balance routines associated with data transmissions and electronic file delivery systems.
Ensure optimum operating system performance.
Expedient recovery of software and hardware aborts.
Monitor and manage online environments to meet service performance agreements.
Timely and accurate delivery/receipt of data transmissions.
Initiate normal system tasks unassisted.
Remain current on major Unisys, IBM, and vendor related operating system commands.
Learn and apply new technologies in an acceptable timeframe.
Understand the basics of supported Client's product lines and pre-determined deadlines.
Communicate issues to management in a timely manner.
Learn basic troubleshooting methods.
Keep and maintain accurate notes on procedures and issue resolution.
Operate multiple product lines simultaneously.
Assume responsibility to train and mentor newer or lesser-seasoned operators, setting high standards of conduct and work ethics for others.
Follow and understand documented procedures to arrive at the desired end result for hardware and software recoveries.
Log and report issues identified throughout the shift, utilizing a defined problem tracking and reporting mechanism.
Troubleshoot online performance issues, requiring assistance only when complex situations arise.
Interpret monitoring tools and understand the normal transactional trending to identify when something abnormal occurs.
Monitor and react to electronic file deliveries in a timely manner.
Bring user codes online and offline.
Fully understand and meet all file delivery commitments.
Articulate thoughts clearly and handle client and internal calls professionally and efficiently.
Possess basic understanding of telecommunications equipment required to perform duties.
Handle all related ACH bulk processing and balancing routines as well and DDA balancing and notifications process.
Manage file transfer completion, be able to detect and correct abends.
Basic monitoring of open system backup jobs.
Note
Flexibility in swapping the shifts and also flexibility when it comes to adhoc changes to the days of the shift.

Graduate
