Segment Controller

Overview As Director / Segment Controller, you act as the senior financial leader for a manufacturing segment, guiding strategic financial direction, planning, and stewardship. You will partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Leadership to drive profitable growth and operational excellence. You translate financial results into actionable insights to enable informed decisions and capital allocation. This role offers impact through cost management, performance analytics, and robust governance in a multi-site manufacturing context. ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary finance leader and trusted advisor to Segment Leadership; drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and profitability.Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning; develop models and scenario analyses.Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and policies; support audits.Manage manufacturing cost accounting including standard costing, inventory, product costing, variance analysis, and overhead allocation.Maintain internal controls and support SOX compliance; ensure governance over processes and reporting.Partner with plant and operations leaders to improve productivity, working capital, and capital project returns.Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team; foster accountability and continuous improvement Key requirementsBachelor in Accounting or Finance10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturingStrong background in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, FP&A, financial reporting, and internal controlsTechnical: knowledge of U.S. GAAP; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)Advanced Excel, financial modeling, and data analyticsStrategic ThinkingBusiness AcumenFinancial LeadershipU.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirementsERP systems: SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics or similarExcel, financial modeling, data analytics tools
