Data Engineer - c2c Fully RemoteThe Job:Collaborate as part of a cross-functional Agile team to create and enhance software that enables state of the art, next generation Big Data & Fast Data applications. Build software and frameworks to automate high-volume and real-time data delivery between our cloud based data platforms and applications. Build data APIs and data delivery services that support critical operational and analytical applications for our internal business operations, customers and partnersLeverage DevOps techniques and practices like Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Test Automation, Build Automation and Test Driven Development to enable the rapid delivery of software utilizing tools like Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, Chef, Terraform, Ruby, Git and DockerPerform unit tests and conduct reviews with other team members to make sure the code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performanceDevelop and deploy distributed computing Data applications using Spark or PysparkUtilize programming languages like Python and NoSQL databases and Cloud based data warehousing services such as Redshift and SnowflakeSql experienceETL experience Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or military experienceAt least 3 years of professional work experience in data engineeringAt least 3 years of experience with PythonAt least 3 years of experience with SqlAt least 3 years of experience with Spark or PysparkAt least 3 years of experience with ETL development At least 2 year of experience working with cloud data capabilities - AWSPython Developer - 76-78/hr c2c - 2 roles one can sit remotely, one will eventually sit in Plano TXResponsibilities:Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutionsCollaborate across teams to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowermentWork with cloud native stack, build on AWS, using technologies like Serverless/Lambdas, Kubernetes, etcWork with Product Owners or downstream teams to understand business requirements and desired application capabilitiesWork with frontend-teams to establish API contracts to realize featuresWrite unit and integration testsCollaborate with other backend teams to design/build solutions across a large enterpriseWrite extensible, thoughtful, well-structured, maintainable codeFollow software engineering best practices to build modular and sustainable softwareBasic Qualifications:3+ years of software developmentAgile developmentSource code versioning with GitStrong communication skills2+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Python2+ years of experience working on high-volume scalable applications1+ years of experience in Agile practices1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service2+ years of experience working with AWS managed services (e.g. Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis)2+ years of experience working with CICD, JenkinsPreferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in software engineering related fieldMentorship of junior developersObject Oriented and knowledge of classic Design PatternsExperience in open source frameworksWorking in an multi-team/organizational level collaborative environment
