This role drives sales, manages expenses, and leads a high-performing team while maintaining strong in-stock conditions and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment OperationsOversee day-to-day grocery department operationsEnsure shelves are fully stocked, faced, and properly merchandisedMaintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, and food safetyEnsure accurate pricing, signage, and promotional executionTeam Leadership & DevelopmentHire, train, and develop grocery associates and supervisorsCreate and manage schedules to meet labor targets and business needsProvide coaching, feedback, and accountability to team membersFoster a positive, productive, and results-driven work environmentCustomer ServiceDeliver and promote a strong customer-first cultureEnsure fast, friendly, and efficient service throughout the departmentAddress and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionallyInventory & MerchandisingManage inventory levels to ensure strong in-stock conditionsOversee ordering, receiving, and backroom organizationMonitor and control shrink, damages, and out-of-stocksExecute merchandising plans, displays, and ad featuresFinancial PerformanceDrive department sales and profitabilityManage labor, shrink, and operating expenses Analyze performance metrics and implement improvement plansSupport overall store financial goalsSafety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with food safety and sanitation standardsFollow all company safety procedures and policiesMaintain a safe environment for customers and employeesQualificationsPrevious grocery, retail, or department management experienceStrong leadership and team development skillsKnowledge of grocery operations, inventory control, and merchandisingAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and organizational skillsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs regularlyFrequent standing, walking, bending, and stockingFlexible schedule including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidaysKey CompetenciesLeadership & team developmentCustomer focusInventory managementOperational executionProblem-solving & decision-makingCareer Path OpportunitiesAssistant Store DirectorStore DirectorDistrict LeadershipPay TransparencyStarting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans.
