This role is responsible for managing engineering activities supporting construction execution, ensuring technical compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and federal contracting standards.The Site Engineering Manager works closely with construction management, project leadership, and client representatives to ensure engineering solutions are effectively integrated into field operations. This position leads engineering coordination across multiple disciplines while maintaining compliance with applicable codes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Success in this role requires strong engineering leadership, the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, and experience supporting projects within highly regulated federal or industrial environments.What You'll DoProvide onsite engineering leadership and technical oversight for construction and infrastructure projects supporting federal programs at Savannah River Site.Manage and coordinate engineering teams responsible for design implementation, field engineering support, technical reviews, and engineering documentation.Ensure engineering work complies with applicable regulatory requirements, project specifications, engineering standards, and federal contracting requirements.Support construction teams by resolving technical issues, reviewing field conditions, and ensuring design intent is maintained during project execution.Coordinate engineering activities with project management, construction leadership, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.Review engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.Support project planning activities including constructability reviews, design coordination, and risk mitigation planning.Ensure engineering documentation and records meet project quality standards and are maintained in accordance with regulatory and audit requirements.Mentor and support the development of engineering staff while promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing across project teams.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required to support project delivery and operational objectives.What You'll BringRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of South Carolina (required).Minimum 10+ years of engineering experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.Experience leading engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities.Strong understanding of engineering design standards, construction practices, and project delivery processes.Experience supporting engineering efforts in highly regulated environments such as federal, nuclear, energy, or industrial facilities.Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Preferred Education and ExperienceExperience supporting federal construction or infrastructure projects, particularly projects supporting Department of Energy or similar federal agencies.Experience working within nuclear or high-hazard facility environments.Experience coordinating engineering support for large-scale infrastructure or industrial construction projects.Advanced engineering degree or specialized technical certifications.LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONSRequired Licenses/CertificationsActive Professional Engineer (PE) license in South CarolinaValid driver’s license.Preferred Licenses/CertificationsProject Management Professional (PMP)Certified Construction Manager (CCM)Additional engineering certifications relevant to infrastructure or industrial projects.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESProvides leadership and oversight for site engineering staff, field engineers, and technical personnel supporting project execution.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:Travels: YesPercent of time: 30%Overnight required: YesPHYSICAL DEMANDS:If one-third of the time – “seldom” or “occasionally” If one-third to two-thirds of the time or more occasionally to frequently” If more than two-thirds of the time – “constantly”]Stationary Position - SeldomPushing/Pulling/Reaching - SeldomClimb - SeldomKneel - SeldomGrab - SeldomBend - SeldomLift/carry over - 10 - 30 LBSVision - 20/20 Corrected VisionHearing - Receive detailed information if spoken toWORKING CONDITIONS:Wet or Humid - SeldomWorking near or on moving mechanical parts - SeldomWorking near or on heavy machinery - SeldomWorking in high places - SeldomExposed to fumes or airborne particles - SeldomExposed to toxic or caustic chemicals - SeldomFrequency of working in outdoor weather conditions - SeldomWork with Electricity - SeldomWork with explosives - SeldomWork on or near a source of radiation - SeldomLoud noise conditions (above 87dB)- SeldomOther Environmental Factors including weather conditions______________________Note: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
