Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our Long-Term Care (LTC) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) operations. In this vital role, you will oversee all nursing services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to residents. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight of nursing operations within the LTC/SNF setting, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including HIPAA and Medicare guidelines. Develop, review, and update comprehensive care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, incorporating assessments such as MDS (Minimum Data Set) evaluations. Supervise nurse management staff and direct nursing teams to ensure optimal shift coverage, staffing levels, and quality of care delivery. Oversee medical records management, documentation review, and accurate medical terminology usage within electronic health record (EHR) systems and EMR systems. Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations by maintaining confidentiality of residents' protected health information (PHI) and managing documentation securely. Lead quality assurance initiatives by monitoring care standards, conducting audits of medical records, and reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, social workers, and administrative staff to coordinate resident care across assisted living, home health, hospice care, and acute care services. Manage compliance with Medicare requirements and other reimbursement protocols to optimize funding while maintaining high standards of resident care. Skills Extensive experience in nursing home settings with a strong understanding of assisted living, home health, hospice care, and acute care environments. Proven management skills with supervising experience in nursing administration and nurse management roles. Deep knowledge of physiology and anatomy to inform effective resident assessments and care planning. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review, medical records management, and reporting purposes. Strong leadership abilities with a focus on shift management, team supervision, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Excellent communication skills for training staff on medical terminology, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with healthcare regulations including HIPAA privacy rules and Medicare reimbursement processes.
