Fashion Designer

Our client, an American retailer that owns and operates 4 brands that are well known, is looking for someone to join their team as a Fashion Designer. This role is in New York City. *This is a W2 contract*In this role, you’ll partner cross-functionally across Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, Sourcing, and Marketing to bring innovative concepts to life, from idea through execution.What You Will Be DoingIdentify and interpret seasonal trends, including silhouettes, fabrics, colors, and techniquesCreate original design concepts through black-and-white sketches and full color-upsDevelop and present seasonal design concepts and collectionsPartner with Sourcing and Materials teams to select and order fabrics down to the color levelBuild Tech Packs in collaboration with Production and Technical DesignCommunicate design intent, ensuring alignment on fit, construction, and overall visionAttend and contribute to cross-functional meetings with Merchandising, Production, and Technical DesignSupport fit sessions, providing input on body blocks and garment constructionAnalyze fashion trends and competitive landscape to inform design decisionsRequired Skills & Experience 4+ years of fashion design experienceKnits/Sweaters experienceBrings strong trend awareness and market curiosityHas a passion for elevated product and customer-first design thinkingIs comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environmentHas a strong point of view and isn’t afraid to take thoughtful creative risksThrives in collaborative, inclusive, and creative team settings
