Our cost-effective, tight-tolerance, global manufacturing capabilities ensure superior total landed cost as well as reliability throughout the product life cycle.An Assembly Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing assembly area to ensure products are built safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This role coordinates people, materials, and equipment to meet production schedules while minimizing downtime and waste. The Assembly Manager supervises and supports production staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. They monitor workflow, address production issues in real time, and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as quality, maintenance, and supply chain to keep operations running smoothly.Day-to-Day OperationsOversee daily assembly line operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are metMonitor workflow, equipment performance, and material availability to minimize downtimeCoordinate with supply chain and maintenance teams to resolve production issues quicklyImplement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and continuous improvement practices (e.g., Lean manufacturing)Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, efficiency, scrap rates, and on-time deliveryEnsure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized production floorEmployee ManagementSupervise, train, and mentor assembly line supervisors and production staffConduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support employee developmentManage staffing levels, scheduling, and shift assignments to meet production demandsPromote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and safetyAddress employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and enforce company policiesLead onboarding and ongoing training programs for new and existing employeesProduction MeetingsLead daily production meetings to review targets, performance, and operational challengesCommunicate production goals, schedule changes, and priorities to team leads and staffCollaborate with cross-functional teams (quality, engineering, supply chain) to address issues and improve processesReview production data and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reductionReport on production performance and issues to senior managementFacilitate problem-solving discussions and drive action plans from meeting outcomesAdditional tasks as neededSkills And AbilitiesLeadership and team management, with the ability to motivate and develop production staffStrong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processesAbility to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple production activities simultaneouslyProblem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvementExcellent communication skills for coordinating with teams and leading production meetingsKnowledge of safety standards and ability to enforce a safe work environmentExperience with performance metrics (KPIs) and data-driven decision-makingAbility to troubleshoot production issues and minimize downtimeOrganizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodsConflict resolution and employee relations skillsBasic computer skills (ERP systems, spreadsheets, production tracking software)Ability to adapt quickly to changing production demands and prioritiesStrong time management and decision-making abilitiesFamiliar with ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 requirementsERP (SAP, EPICOR) system experienceCompensationFLSA Exempt: Between $95,000-$115,000Boyd is an equal opportunity employer and offers the following benefits: Medical (3 PPO plan options), dental, and vision insurance plans Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts Employer-provided AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability Voluntary accident insurance, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and whole lifeplans Voluntary life insurance plans 401k with company match 50% subsidized unlimited use ORCA pass Paid holiday, vacation, and sick time Annual discretionary bonusAll Job Posting Locations (Location)SeattleRemote TypeOn-SiteEEO StatementBoyd Corp is an equal opportunity employer.
