Salary: $0.00 HourlyLocation : Moore County, NCJob Type: VolunteerJob Number: 2025509Department: Social ServicesOpening Date: 03/28/2025Closing Date: ContinuousEssential Job DutiesAssist with maintaining case history records and preparing reports for vulnerable and elder adults; attend court to observe the role of a social worker; observe social worker counsel individuals, families, groups, or communities; observe social worker consult with community partners; assist with interviewing clients individually, in families, and in groups, assessing their situations, capabilities, and problems to determine what services are required to meet their needs; assist with community outreach to strengthen supportive services to citizens; and, perform administrative tasks related to social work functions.Knowledge and Skill RequirementsMust be to fulfill a course requirement; must complete the DSS Volunteer/Intern orientation; ability to work closely with social work supervisors, social workers, clients, and the public with professionalism; general knowledge of social, economic, and health problems/programs; and, ability to plan and organize work and to understand and interpret laws, policies, and regulations.License, Certification, and Other Special RequirementsThis is medium work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, fingering, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. The worker may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
