Program Manager I

Overview In this role you implement major programs across Calpine’s fleet to improve reliability and efficiency, including predictive maintenance, water treatment, transformer reliability, incident investigation, and training programs. You coordinate contractors, interpret results, and advise management and engineering on critical items. You provide technical leadership and ensure programs are delivered consistently, aligning with master plans and schedules to support fleet performance. ResponsibilitiesOversee predictive maintenance program logistics and contractor performanceCoordinate scheduling, pricing, and technical execution of company programsProvide technical guidance to internal departments and lead cross-organizational collaborationMonitor water treatment chemistry and identify corrective actionsTrack chemical usage, inventory, and environmental compliance across facilitiesEnsure permit compliance (water, wastewater, stormwater, recycled water, air quality)Coordinate sampling, laboratory testing, chain-of-custody, and communicate resultsDraft and submit environmental and compliance reports to regulatory agenciesPerform data analysis on air mercury and other environmental metricsConduct inspections and prepare regulatory documentation for Storm Water and Recycled Water programs Key requirementsBachelor’s Degree in engineering or chemical field3+ years of experienceSolid working knowledge of industrial operations and environmental complianceAbility to interpret guidelines and make decisions in ambiguous situationsExperience in program management or lead roles within a technical departmentproblem solvingindependent judgmentclear communicationwater treatment chemistry oversightsampling coordination and analytical testingenvironmental regulatory reporting
