Asphalt Foreman

We are looking for a dependable Asphalt Foreman to support our current and future roadway and transportation projects. This role requires working outdoors and managing a team of employees in various positions; directly impacting construction quality and project timelinesPlease read the key responsibilities of the role to see if this is the right fit for you.Key responsibilitiesSupervise and manage crewsCoordinate with Project Managers and SubcontractorsOversee equipment and materialsEnforce safety policies and proceduresAdministrative DutiesAbility to provide feedback to crew membersFollow safety procedures on active construction sites and around trafficFollow all company policies per Employee HandbookFollow all company safety policies outlined in the Employee Safety ManuelPerform other job-related duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredMinimum of 3 years as a Foreman and 10+ years of experience in asphalt paving preferredAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, understand asphalt paving methods, and operate equipmentAbility to understand grades, construction layouts and possess detailed knowledge of GDOT specificationsFamiliar with electronic grade control for paver systemsStrong organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills to manage crews effectivelyBasic math skills and attention to detailsWillingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsValid drivers license and second form of IDClean driving recordLegally allowed to work in the United StatesAbility to carry 50lbsAble to safely walk uneven terrainProfessional Attitude and ConductHigh degree of safety awareness and safety disciplineWilling to travel and work away from home when and if requiredBe willing to work nights and weekends when necessaryStrictly adhere to safety requirements and the policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee HandbookWear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by Pittman Construction Safety Policies and Procedures and OSHABe at least 18 years of age due to the nature of the working environmentRandom and Suspicion Drug tests are performedPlease be aware that you must successfully complete a drug screen and background check in order to be hired on at Pittman Construction CompanyThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
