Usinganalytical skills review equipment in the field (site buildings and surrounding grounds)for the purpose of developing recommendations for repair of customer equipment.Analyzes hardware, components, and mechanical systems for the development andexecution of procedural documents used to methodically and safely isolate energysources preparing them to be worked on in a safe and reliable manner. Providesmechanical engineering support in accordance with Annex 3 requirements in NASAFacilities Contract.Principal Responsibilities of the PositionDevelops procedural documents for use in de-energizing building/facility equipment and systems in support of work activities performed or sponsored by internal work groups.Assists in design reviews focused on final preparation of customer submittal packages in support of ongoing projects.Analysis and conducts research with a focus on arrival at recommendations forrepair/replacement of customer equipment and systems.Investigates troublesome equipment to build a legible report depicting recommendations to the customer.Provide mechanical engineering support specifically and Operations engineering support generally as required.JOB DESCRIPTIONEducation and Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field preferred.Four or more years of experience in mechanical engineering.Ability to review mechanical drawings specifically and possess general knowledge and ability to read drawings prepared by other engineering disciplines.RequirementsMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a NASA badge to access the worksite.Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), US Passport, or INS Citizenship documents prior to date of hire.Must have the ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.Must have, and maintain, a valid Texas driver's license.Must have, and maintain, vehicle insurance.Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test, and physical.Special Knowledge and Skills RequiredPressure Systems code complianceAnalytical and problem-solving skillsMicrosoft Office Suite a mustOrganization and time management skills to maintain project deadlines.Interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members, vendors, and contractors.Communication skills to interact with internal and external personnel to convey specific intent.Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.RequirementsFit to perform job duties as required by the position.PreferencesPrior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred
