Associate Field Engineer - Controls

This position is responsible for electrical and controls engineering projects involving electrical and instrumentation, coordination with electrical subcontractors, PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, commissioning support, and start-up assistance.Major ResponsibilitiesBMS Installation & Wiring QA/QC Verification including control panels and associated instruments (Level 2). Ensure devices and/or equipment, associated with the control system, have been installed and wired per the manufacturer's requirements as well as the submitted and approved package shop drawings and documentation"Point-to-Point" testing to ensure field devices, associated with the control system, have been installed per the submitted and approved system shop drawings and documentation. (Level 3) This process also verifies the data to and from field devices is properly configured in the BMS/EPMS control system and includes data that may be read via network integrationFunctional Performance Testing (FPT) to ensure the control system and field devices operate as defined by the relevant BMS design (Level 4) Verify proper execution of control sequences, alert configuration, alert activation, trend displays, trend configurations, control system failures, and overall verification of the system graphicsSupport System Level Testing to ensure the control system and field devices functionally perform as one system (Level 5). Verify proper execution of control sequences with all relevant systems operating to achieve a common goal. During this testing, the SCADA is used to navigate the different areas and views of the facility, alerts are activated, trend displays are monitored, and system failure scenarios are examinedMinimum RequirementsEducation BS Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred. An AA in Engineering Technology or equivalent field technician experience may be substituted (engineering specialist).Experience New Graduate or 0-2 years of field experience:Understanding of or exposure to field instrumentation, hardware panels and low voltage controls designUnderstanding of control systems, components, PLC programming, SCADA programming and their applicationsPhysical Demands of Position Attention to detail with critical focus on Quality Control. Ability to maintain quality with repetitive commissioning events. Writing, computer work, field work in construction environment, trailer or industrial settings, color perception, hearing, adept at verbal and written communication, teamwork, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting up to 50 pounds, man-lift or fork-lift operation, climbing, and ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing, and pulling.Working / Residence Plan100% work site location; (outside of PTO)Standard Monday-Friday working hours with occasional weekend requirementsMultiple 12-24+ month assignments at US-based sites with allowed weekend travel 2x/month (excluding vacations). Significant monthly stipend provided for to cover local housing, meals and incidentals. 2x per month airfare covered by CompanyAllowance for 1 month unpaid time off per year (maintenance of all benefits) when between jobsChesterfield, MO based position once 2-4 year field assignment is completeConstruction trailer and industrial environment.
