Provides individualized support and assistance with the organization and implementation of activities to enable successful recreation participation.Qualifications:Must be 16 years of age or olderMust be highly motivated and enthusiastic in order to provide quality experiences for our participantsMust pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug/alcohol screenCPR and First Aid certification requiredNCI (Non-violent Crisis Intervention) certification requiredEssential Functions:Assist with supervision and safety of individuals with disabilities including implementing behavior management plans and NCI (Non-violent Crisis Intervention) techniques and First Aid, once certifiedDemonstrate good safety awareness and judgmentMaintain effective and open communication with Program Coordinator/leader and other staff with information concerning participants' needs, progress, or situations related to programmingProvide individualized support as needed to ensure participants' successful participation in activitiesProvide personal assistance to individuals with disabilities as needed, including assistance with transferring, eating, toileting, etc.Must be able to follow directions, policies, and proceduresEnthusiastically implement and participate in activitiesMaintain a professional attitude with participants, families, other staff, and community membersAttend mandatory trainings Marginal Functions:Complete availability forms, documentation, and other materials as needed, in a timely mannerMaintain own schedule and submit electronic timesheets in a timely manner, as guided by the City payroll scheduleLifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying items weighing 20-50 pounds with mechanical assistance or team liftMaintain program facilities in a neat and orderly mannerGather, load, transport and set up equipmentPerform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator/leaderRate:Starting at $16.75/hourSchedule:This is a seasonal position that includes a varying number of consecutive weeks (typically 8-10/season) during the fall, winter, spring, and/or summer. A predetermined schedule based on staff availability and interest will be provided in the form of a seasonal assignment prior to the season beginning.
