The Sales Engineer will play a critical role in both business development and technical solution delivery by supporting the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and customer engagement to system design, demonstrations, engineering, proposal development, and project estimation.The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. This individual will work directly with clients, manufacturers, internal engineering teams, and project managers to design customized security and technology solutions that meet customer requirements and project objectives.The Sales Engineer will be responsible for conducting live product demonstrations, performing site assessments, developing system designs and bill of materials, creating proposals and cost estimates, and supporting the successful close of projects.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, develop, and maintain new customer relationships across commercial, municipal, education, healthcare, and enterprise marketsConduct customer meetings, site walks, needs assessments, and solution discovery sessionsDesign and engineer integrated security and technology solutions including:Video surveillance systemsAccess control systemsAI analytics platformsMobile surveillance unitsNetwork infrastructureEmergency communication systemsCloud and hybrid security solutionsPrepare system layouts, scopes of work, bill of materials (BOMs), and technical documentationDevelop accurate project estimates, labor calculations, and pricing proposalsDeliver in-person and virtual product demonstrations and presentationsCollaborate with manufacturers and vendors to evaluate technologies and ensure solution compatibilityAssist with RFP/RFQ responses and technical proposal generationMaintain CRM activity, sales pipelines, and forecasting updatesSupport project handoff and coordination with operations and installation teamsStay current on emerging technologies, security trends, and competitive solutionsAttend trade shows, networking events, customer meetings, and industry conferences as neededQualificationsExperience in technical sales, systems engineering, or solution design within the physical security, low-voltage, networking, or technology industriesStrong understanding of:Video surveillance systems (Pelco, Avigilon, Axis, Hanwha, etc.)Access control platformsNetworking fundamentalsCloud-based security systemsAI and analytics technologiesExperience creating proposals, estimates, and scopes of workAbility to conduct technical demonstrations and customer presentationsExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and project management abilitiesAbility to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlinesProficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and estimating/design toolsExperience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Visio, or similar design platforms is a plusUnderstanding of public sector or law enforcement technology environments is highly desirableBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or related field preferred, or equivalent industry experiencePreferred SkillsTechnical aptitude combined with strong sales abilitySolution-oriented mindset with strong troubleshooting capabilitiesExperience with public safety technologies and real-time crime center (RTCC) environmentsFamiliarity with security integrations and enterprise system architectureAbility to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience working with construction plans, specifications, and bid documentsWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation structurePerformance incentives and commission opportunitiesCareer growth within a rapidly expanding technology and security companyExposure to cutting-edge AI and public safety technologiesFlexible work environmentOpportunity to work on impactful projects that improve community safety and operational security
