Transportation Supervisor Twenty Nine Palms Enterprises - Coachella, CA 92236Overview Position Type Full Time Job Shift Any Category TransportationDescription SUMMARY:This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Transportation Department, including supervising team members, managing schedules, maintaining inventory, coordinating purchasing, keeping accurate records, and dispatching vehicles. All responsibilities are carried out in compliance with the Tribe's company standards, policies, and procedures. Every person and detail matters.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide outstanding customer service to guests and all other employees by exceeding our mission statement.Lead by example and carry out our Five Star Experience to Guests and all Team Members by embodying our Mission Statement and Service Promise while adhering to department service standards. This entails consistency performing our service expectations of: Welcoming, Proactive, Seamless, Personalized and Valued.Monitor daily Transportation Department operations, including detailing services and shuttle activities.Directly supervise valet attendants by overseeing daily operations, scheduling, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions.Track and analyze shift metrics, including vehicle counts, wait times, and ticket volumes.Maintain a working knowledge of fleet management practices to support vehicle maintenance, compliance, and recordkeeping.Ensure understanding and adherence to DOT regulations related to terminal inspections, driver qualification files, and vehicle inspections.Continuously seek opportunities to improve Transportation Department operations through Team Member coaching, development, and recognition of outstanding performance.Maintain company vehicles to meet service standards and support a Five Star Service experience.Respond professionally to Guest inquiries regarding transportation and valet services.Support transportation dispatch operations as needed.Transport passengers safely and efficiently to their destinations.Utilize knowledge of the local area, GPS, and mapping applications to determine safe and efficient routes.Communicate effectively with Valet Dispatch and seek guidance when handling unusual situations.Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections to verify vehicles are safe and operating properly.Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of vehicle interiors and exteriors before and after each trip.Assist with audit preparation and respond to grantor inquiries as needed.Oversee maintenance and service scheduling for all Tribal-owned vehicles.Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.Provide Guests with accurate information regarding local directions and property amenities at Spotlight 29 Casino and Tortoise Rock Casino.Stay informed on all gaming and non-gaming offerings, events, and promotions at Spotlight 29 Casino and Tortoise Rock Casino.Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to its guests and vendors and to assist them as required.Must follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training as a condition of employment.Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.Able to make difficult decision in a fair and honest manner.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (MUST BE DOCUMENTED):Bachelor's degree preferred in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Transportation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).One (1) year of supervisory experience required.Must possess strong knowledge of, or the ability to learn applicable Department of Transportation regulations including DOT mandated drug and alcohol test requirements.Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.CERTIFICATION, LICENSES AND ANY ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be 21 years of age or older.Must pass periodic random drug screens.California Commercial Class "C" or "B" Driver's License with a Passenger endorsement.Clean DMV record and successful completion of DOT pre-employment screening.Must pass a DOT medical exam and provide proof of a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.Must be able to pass background suitability investigation.Must have a valid Driver's License.Must obtain a Tribal Gaming License.Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
