Substation Project Engineer

About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Project Engineer to oversee internal substation projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping projects from the conceptual phase through construction and commissioning, ensuring alignment with engineering requirements and project scope. Your expertise in high voltage substation projects and project management will be essential in driving successful project outcomes. Responsibilities Spearhead project meetings, ensuring meticulous project tracking and insightful analysis to drive progress. Proactively identify challenges, rigorously measure and validate results, and implement effective solutions to keep projects on track. Manage the procurement of engineering consulting services by defining scopes of work, evaluating bids, and awarding contracts. Collaborate with project teams to secure substation sites and provide essential engineering support, data, and permits. Ensure compliance with ISO requirements by supporting the review of interconnection documentation and integrating necessary design modifications. Oversee the development of detailed substation design documents, including physical layouts, electrical schematics, and civil drawings, through various stages of completion. Work with engineering firms to develop design documents. Drive innovation by collaborating with component OEMs to refine designs for seamless integration with organizational standards. Qualifications Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Extensive experience (11+ years) in substation design and engineering for high voltage substation projects. Proven experience in project engineering and project management. Preferred Skills Master of Science degree. Familiarity with regulatory filings and hearings. Experience in coordinating with component OEMs.
