Assistant/Shift Manager - Restaurant
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations at our busy quick service yogurt concept. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food service management, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. Work Schedule - Wednesday-Sunday or Tuesday - Saturday
We are closed on Mondays and close nightly at 8 pm during the week and 10 pm on the weekends - NO LATE NIGHTS
Duties
Assist in managing restaurant operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning.
Supervise and train staff, including servers, kitchen personnel, and bartenders, fostering a positive team environment.
Oversee food preparation, ensuring quality standards and food safety regulations are maintained.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels to minimize waste.
Experience with Toast, Sling and other softwares
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across all areas of the restaurant.
Support shift management by scheduling staff and coordinating coverage during busy periods.
Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting to optimize profitability.
Assist in Scheduling and working off site events as needed
Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Participate in hiring processes, including interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members.
Lead training & development initiatives to enhance staff skills and performance.
Collaborate with kitchen management on food production, menu implementation, and catering services when applicable.
Working knowledge of Taylor Machines
Experience
Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience within quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining establishments.
Strong background in food preparation, food safety, and kitchen management.
Experience with Toast
Demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams within hospitality or food service environments.
Familiarity with inventory control, budgeting, and food industry best practices.
Prior experience in similar QSR concepts
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse guest needs effectively.
Knowledge of food handling regulations and culinary operations is highly desirable.
