Job Role : Electrical Engineer (Elevator)Job Location: Bloomfield,CT (onsite)Job Type: Full-time / ContractJob Details:Seeking a senior-level contractor to lead the capacity expansion of an industrial electronics repair operation specializing in elevator drive and PCBA repairs. The contractor must possess expert-level experience in electronics troubleshooting, power electronics, distributed control system design, test system design, manufacturing process optimization, cell layout design, and operational transitions. Responsibilities include designing and commissioning new test equipment, validating repair processes, optimizing workflow, leading equipment migration activities, and increasing repair throughput. Experience with industrial drives, automated test systems, depot repair operations, and lean manufacturing is strongly preferred. This individual will serve as the technical lead responsible for designing, building, validating, and deploying new test systems; optimizing repair workflows; and improving overall costs and lead times for this core function.Test Equipment EngineeringDesign, build, and commission new electronic test equipment and repair fixtures.Develop functional, diagnostic, and end-of-line test solutions for industrial electronic assemblies.Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment documentation, and bills of material.Develop validation protocols and acceptance criteria for deployed test systems.Integrate instruments, data acquisition systems, power supplies, PLCs, and automation components as required.Electronics Repair & Technical LeadershipProvide expert-level troubleshooting support for:PCBAsPower electronicsVariable frequency drives (VFDs)Motor control systemsIndustrial control electronicsEmbedded electronic assembliesImprove diagnostic methodologies and repair effectiveness.Reduce repeat failures, no-fault-found occurrences, and repair cycle times.Serve as the technical authority for repair processes and test methodologies.Process Improvement & Facility LayoutAnalyze existing workflows, material movement, workstation utilization, and throughput.Design optimized facility and cell layouts utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.Improve production flow, technician productivity, and inventory management.Establish standardized workstations, repair processes, and testing procedures.Implement best practices for quality, safety, ergonomics, and operational efficiency.Capacity ExpansionDevelop and execute plans to increase repair capacity.Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to increase throughput and operational flexibility.Support staffing and operational ramp-up activities.DeliverablesThe contractor will be expected to deliver:Current-state operational assessment.Future-state layout and workflow design.New test equipment designs and deployment plans.Equipment commissioning strategy.Standard operating procedures and work instructions.Test equipment validation and qualification documentation.Capacity expansion recommendations and implementation roadmap.Final operational handoff package & implementationSuccess MetricsSuccessful capacity expansion, reducing overall costs and improving lead times.New test systems are operational and validated according to schedule.Improved repair throughput and facility capacity.Reduced cycle time and process inefficiencies.Enhanced test coverage and repair quality improvements, closed loop field feedback for no problem foundComplete documentation and operational readiness.Qualification:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
