Technical Operations Manager

OverviewFarm Data Systems is seeking a Technical Operations Manager to lead our remote support operations and the design/development of SCADA systems used in agricultural irrigation and fertigation and built on Ignition SCADA software. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that bridges technical support, systems engineering, and product improvement.What Youll Do Manage and grow our remote technical support team Lead the design, build, and commissioning of new SCADA installations Own alarm triage processes, troubleshooting workflows, and documentation Collaborate with developers to improve and test SCADA software features Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and onboard new SCADA technologies Create technical guides, customer playbooks, and standard operating procedures What Were Looking For5+ years of experience in SCADA, automation, or controls engineering Skilled in Ignition, PLC/RTU systems, Modbus, MQTT, and wireless networks (Ethernet, LoRa, cellular) 3+ years of experience in building managing a technical team Expertise in technical documentation Firsthand experience in tier 1, 2 & 3 customer support Strong communicator with experience leading support or field service teams Comfortable working across engineering, agronomy, and customer support Bonus: Experience in agriculture, irrigation systems, or environmental monitoring What Youll Get Competitive salary (based on experience) Office based role with some travel to project sites (as needed) Health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k Paid time off and company holidays Opportunity to shape the future of ag tech SCADA delivery Apply Today Submit your resume and a short message about your background in SCADA, controls, or ag tech support.Learn more atRequiredPreferredJob IndustriesOther
