QualificationsProfessional Educator License (PEL)School Social Worker endorsementKnowledge of current educational and instructional methodologies and techniquesKnowledge of theories and practices of child developmentEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, and implement lesson materials in accordance with district resources and alignment with State standards and Antioch CCSD 34's philosophy and objectivesEmploys a variety of instructional methods/techniques and materials to differentiate learning activities for all studentsPromotes and maintains appropriate student behaviorParticipates on committees to develop and improve instruction and/or other building level goals/initiativesActively pursues continual professional growth and is committed to our vision of making our school a place of excellenceMaintains accurate and complete records involving student information required by law, District policy, and administrative directionProvide direct counseling support to students through pull out and push in servicesProvide consultation with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding difficulties with social, emotional, and behavioral concernsReview brief and complex functional behavior assessment process (FBA), as neededInterpretation of student data in the areas of social/emotional/behavioralAssist with paraprofessionals to meet the needs of students throughout the buildingParticipate in, assist with, and/or manage student 504 evaluation and plansParticipate in the evaluation process for Individual Education Plans.Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans when Social/Emotional Functioning has been identified.Provide social skills training to studentsProvide therapeutic intervention/counseling for students with social/emotional/behavioral needsCoordinate and facilitate professional development opportunities for school community during the school year and summer programming based on need.Resource and referral with community-based agenciesProvide regular, scheduled support to the Structured Learning Program, Learning Opportunities Program, and Early Childhood programs based on school assignmentCrisis managementHelp guide extended school year program in supporting the overall emotional, social, and behavioral needs of all studentsMandated reporterKnowledge of IEP policy and procedures, competence with IDEA rules/regulationsProblem solving team memberDevelop and implement Tier 1 activities to support literacy developmentProvide direct instruction and/or consultation with assistive technology devicesProvide co-treatment with other related services providers whenever appropriateCollaboration for the integration of S/L services into the general education curriculumMaintain documentation and detailed data for students servedAbility to communicate effectively with parents, staff and administrationAbility to work collaboratively with grade level team and school teamsDemonstration of strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills with colleagues, parents, and administrationDemonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growthSalary aligned with the terms of the AEEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
