Vice President of Business Development

A high‑growth, non‑asset third‑party logistics organisation is seeking an experienced Vice President of Truckload to lead and scale its truckload brokerage division. This is a senior leadership role for a proven operator with deep North American truckload expertise who thrives in fast‑paced, performance‑driven environments. The Opportunity This role holds full responsibility for the performance, growth, and optimisation of the truckload brokerage function. You will lead customer and carrier account managers, strengthen carrier partnerships, optimise pricing strategies, and collaborate closely with Sales to deliver exceptional service and profitable growth. Key Responsibilities Lead and grow the truckload brokerage division Manage and expand an existing freight portfolio Negotiate competitive freight rates with customers and carriers Build and maintain a strong, reliable carrier network Partner with Sales to execute high‑level customer service Hire, train, mentor, and develop operations talent Drive accountability, performance metrics, and continuous improvement Candidate Profile 5+ years’ experience in truckload transportation or brokerage Strong knowledge of North American truckload (dry van & flatbed) Proven ability to build long‑term customer and carrier relationships Confident, motivating people leader Results‑driven with strong commercial and market insight Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and decision‑making skills What’s on Offer Commission / incentive structure High‑performance, collaborative culture Opportunity to lead a division within a business on a significant growth trajectory This search is being conducted confidentially.
