Industrial Powder Coater
Job Description
Quality Painting & Metal Finishing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Powder Coater to join our high-volume production team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for applying powder coat finishes to a wide range of industrial products, including equipment, fixtures, weldments, and fabricated metal components. We are looking for a candidate who takes pride in their work and is eager to grow within our organization.RESPONSIBILITIESOperate powder coat spray guns, electrostatic equipment, and curing ovens to apply uniform, high-quality finishes to industrial parts.Prepare and pre-treat metal substrates (steel, aluminum, and other materials) through cleaning, masking, sanding, and blasting as required.Hang, rack, and load parts onto conveyor lines or batch oven carts for efficient, high-volume throughput.Perform color changes, including thorough booth and equipment cleaning between runs.Conduct visual inspections and thickness/adhesion tests to ensure finished parts conform to quality specifications.Sort and prepare hooks, racks, and fixtures for burn-off; maintain fixture inventory.Monitor oven temperatures and cure cycles to ensure proper cross-linking and coating durability.Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning; report issues requiring repair.Maintain accurate production run records using the company ERP system.Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and hazardous material handling procedures.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent required.Previous powder coating or industrial finishing experience preferred; willingness to train the right candidate.Familiarity with metal substrates including steel and aluminum.Ability to operate electrostatic spray equipment and powder coating booths.Basic mechanical aptitude; ability to perform routine equipment adjustments and maintenance.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality finishes.Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a production team.Trade school, apprenticeship certification, or vocational training in finishing/coatings is a plus.GROWTH & ADVANCEMENTWe believe in promoting from within.
