As a Senior MineStar Performance Engineer, you will be at the core of both staffed and autonomous mining operations, partnering closely with customers to elevate safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.This role sits within the MineStar Performance Center, with a key focus on optimizing the performance of MineStar Fleet and Command for Hauling applications across the region. You’ll work directly with customers, dealers, and internal teams to drive measurable improvements using data, assessments, and performance tools—and act on opportunities that unlock value.If you’re passionate about mining, technology, and continuous improvement, this role offers the chance to influence the future of mining operations and be recognized as a MineStar subject matter expert.Why This Role Is ExcitingHelp mining customers achieve world‑class performance using industry-leading technologies.Blend office-based work with exposure to diverse mine sites across the region.Join a team at the forefront of operational and autonomous mining transformation.Opportunity to be a part of a pivotal point for Caterpillar with a strong focus on customer and operational excellence.Influence product improvement and have a voice in shaping the future of mining technology.What You Will DoCalled upon as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support safe and effective performance for MineStar Fleet and Command for Hauling customers.Lead and deliver Site Assessments, continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, and performance tool implementations.Apply advanced methodologies and tools to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control performance for MineStar applications.Provide coaching and mentoring to Caterpillar teams, dealers, and mining customers.Advise customers on operational best practices and CI opportunities to unlock higher performance.Maintain and update operational documentation to reflect best practices and performance insights.Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and support teams to enhance technology offerings.Support both contractual and non-contractual customer performance commitments.Skills You Will HaveService ExcellenceA strong personal safety culture with the ability to influence safe behaviors across diverse mine sites.Technical ExcellenceExperience in surface mining operationsKnowledge of MineStar Fleet, Command for Hauling, or other mining technologiesStrong understanding of operational excellence and mining processesProblem-Solving Experience using performance improvement methodologiesComfort working across diverse themes—data analysis, coding, validation, documentation, coaching, project managementEffective CommunicationsExcellent interpersonal skillsStrong change‑management mindsetAbility to build relationships and influence customers toward improvementField SupportCommitment to expanding your expertise across additional MineStar applications.Top Candidates Will HaveDegree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, or ITExperience working in conventional or autonomous surface mining operationsExperience with mining technology systems or heavy mining equipmentKnowledge of French or Spanish would be considered advantageousProfessional Engineer or the ability to register as a Professional Engineer would be considered advantageousAdditional InformationPrimary work locations: Phoenix, Arizona.
