SUMMARY To assist the General Manager in the operation of the Center with assigned responsibility and functions. Under limited supervision, is responsible for assigned major areas of work and for the operation of the center in the absence of the manager. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Direct and supervise all operations of the center when scheduled to do so, or in the absence of the Manager. Identify potential operational problems, develop and implement preventive actions. Handle customer complaints and problems that arise, using judgment as to which ones to refer to the manager. Assist in all phases of marketing, sales and promotion. Prepare reports, financial records and secure receipts as prescribed. Have a thorough knowledge of all the duties of the bowling center staff. Provide bowling assistance or instruction to customers when needed. Be familiar with and perform all opening and closing procedures when scheduled to do so. Direct, supervise and evaluate staff performance. Other duties may be assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have a good knowledge of general business methods including financial, marketing and personnel. Thorough knowledge of league and tournament bowling preferred. Good judgment is required regularly not only in determining the methods of operation but in analysis of complex problems and interpretation of procedures. Exceptional problems are referred to a higher level usually with recommendations for solution. QUALIFICATIONS Must have a valid food handler's card Valid Arizona driver's license EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Associates degree in related field or trade school, professional or technical certification, specialized training is preferred 6-months specialized work experience, 2-years work experience in related field or 2-years general or supervisory work experience Some experience in sales or retail management preferred. Some experience in bowling operations preferred.
