This position requires the use of effective technical mathematics and measurement tools in the performance of tasks. This position is a significant component of the company Quality System.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesDisplay a positive attitude and strong work ethic that reflects the Mission and Core Values of SILFEX.Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of ManufacturingApply knowledge of specification criteria in performing crystal growing functionsOperate crystal puller to required specificationsInspect each finished part for defectsEnter complete and accurate data into ERP systemComplete associated paperwork timely and accuratelyEnsure cleanliness and order of growing stationsPerform cleaning tasks at required intervals Ensure equipment is in proper working order and submit Maintenance work orders, as needed.Perform minor maintenance and preventative maintenance on department equipmentServe as trainer, when needed.Troubleshoot using knowledge and tools.Effectively work and communicate with maintenance and engineeringEscalate issues a timely mannerFill in when Team Lead is absentProcess silicon for remeltingOperate aerial/mobile liftsOperate overhead crane to move cast ingots and hotzone tools and partsAssist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5SPerform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignmentsPerform other duties as assigned by department managementCultureDisplay a positive attitude and strong work ethic that reflects the Mission and Core Values of Silfex.Create and maintain a culture where workplace safety is part of everything we do. Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities. Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area. Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.High School diploma or general education degree (GED)At least 4 years prior Crystal Growing experience requiredProficient at manually assisting crystal growth without automation.Capable of confidently reacting during adverse conditions, such as a power outage or loss of water.Cross trained in one function besides Crystal Growing, such as, such as DP Cell, Cast Furnaces, Crest Cleaner, etc.Serve as Trainer.Proficient at correcting Plex issues.Capable of leading shift.Able to use Trend-Link to make quality decisions to prevent unnecessary downtime.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formAbility to communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, or employees of the organizationAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumeAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsMust be able to obtain sufficient task success to establish credibility with management, staff and employeesMust be able to work effectively individually and in a team environmentMust be able to pay close attention to detailsMust be able to perform successfully under minimum supervisionPhysical DemandsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
